This image is one of a series, based on organic and microbiotic forms and ciphers. Because of the soft material used for the matrix and the cutting method, they are freely developed with little pre-planning, randomly spaced over the black ground. I was aware while I was cutting them, almost drawing them in the black space, that some were springing from my unconscious and some from remembered forms. I tried to allow this free invention to happen. Indicia in latin means signs or symbols.
