Rock Candy Man

he's confectioner's sugar but
the rock candy man is not licked
he moves in crystal isolation
as the damp air of celebrity
plays over his sweet skin
those bright colours dazzle, he
smiles to be so desired, yet inviolate.
hungry eyes always attracted
mouths empty and he
would fill with sticky effusion
release the sugary colours
on the stained lips and tongue
Oh, at last incorporate and free
or consumed !
that cannot happen.
