In nature, germination is the beginning of independent growth in cells. After that, DNA orders the cell structure and type to create the plant, the animal or the human. This much we know, but still, life remains a mystery and must be defined as miraculous. My print celebrates the potency of germination, which creates all life. The fertility of the world is all around us, often unnoticed or unseen, often abused. With greater respect for the fertility of plant, animal and human we could realise a profound change in our world. This image uses the synthesis of growth and fertility in nature as an allegory of human sensuality and imagination.
